Al-Layl
وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰ1
By the night when it covers1
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ2
And [by] the day when it appears2
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ3
And [by] He who created the male and female3
إِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتَّىٰ4
Indeed, your efforts are diverse4
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أَعۡطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ5
As for he who gives and fears Allah5
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ6
And believes in the best [reward]6
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ7
We will ease him toward ease7
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ8
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need8
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ9
And denies the best [reward]9
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ10
We will ease him toward difficulty10
وَمَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ11
And what will his wealth avail him when he falls11
إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدَىٰ12
Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance12
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡأٓخِرَةَ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ13
And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]13
فَأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارٗا تَلَظَّىٰ14
So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing14
لَا يَصۡلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى15
None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one15
ٱلَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ16
Who had denied and turned away16
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَتۡقَى17
But the righteous one will avoid it17
ٱلَّذِي يُؤۡتِي مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ18
[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself18
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعۡمَةٖ تُجۡزَىٰٓ19
And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded19
إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ20
But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High20
وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضَىٰ21
And he is going to be satisfied21
