Way2Quran respects your privacy. This policy explains how our mobile app (iOS, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery) and website handle your information.
1. What we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from the Way2Quran mobile app. Specifically:
- No account registration is required to use the app.
- No name, email address, phone number, or other personal identifiers are requested.
- No advertising SDKs, trackers, or third-party analytics libraries are integrated.
2. What is stored on your device
The following is stored locally on your device and never leaves it:
- Language and theme preferences
- Bookmarked pages, surahs, and reciters
- Recent playback state (last-played track and position)
You can clear this data at any time from Settings → Clear Cache inside the app, or by uninstalling the app.
3. Network requests
- way2quran.com/api — our own servers, to fetch reciter catalogs, recitations, and audio URLs. We log anonymous, aggregate request metrics (no IP addresses retained beyond standard web-server log rotation).
- api.alquran.cloud — a third-party service that supplies Quranic text for the Mushaf feature. No personal data is transmitted.
- Audio streaming — recitation audio files are streamed from our own Cloudflare R2 / Google Cloud Storage buckets. Cloudflare may log anonymous edge access for abuse prevention, subject to Cloudflare's privacy terms.
4. Permissions we request
- Background audio — required to continue playing recitations when the app is minimised or the screen is locked.
- Network access — required to stream audio and fetch reciter data.
We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, photos, or any other sensitive device capability.
5. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, the app complies with COPPA (US), GDPR-K (EU), and similar children's privacy regulations.
6. Future changes
Upcoming versions of Way2Quran will introduce optional accounts for features like cross-device sync and memorisation streaks. When that happens, this policy will be updated in advance, and account creation will remain entirely optional. Users will be notified in-app of any material change.
