Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Bazzi al-Makki (170–250 AH / 786–864 CE), one of the most famous transmitters of Ibn Kathir and the leading reciter of Makkah in his era. He is noted for certain rulings on the basmala and, in some accounts, the takbir.
